About Me
Having founded Signature Healthcare Services, LLC, in 2000, Dr.
Soon Kuyn Kim currently leads the hospital management company as
President and CEO. Specializing in psychiatric services, each of the
seven facilities under Dr. Kim’s direction focuses on providing mental
health treatment. Dr. Soon K. Kim’s company operates hospitals in
California, Arizona, and Illinois.
After earning his Doctor of
Medicine from Seoul National University in South Korea, Dr. Soon K. Kim
moved to the United States, where he performed his residency at Wayne
County General Hospital in Eloise, Michigan. At Wayne County General, he
acquired expertise in mental health care, studying general and
community psychiatry before adding geriatric psychiatry to his
repertoire later in his career.
With his fellowship and residency
completed, Dr. Soon K. Kim remained in Michigan and opened his own
private practice. Over the next two decades, he worked his way up to
acting as Medical Director of several different organizations. Between
1971 and 1989, he acted as Medical Director for facilities including
Oakwood Heritage Hospital, Outer Drive Hospital, and Riverside Hospital.
Over the following four years, he managed the Michigan Healthcare
Corporation in the same capacity.
Leveraging his experience in
psychiatry, Dr. Soon K. Kim founded Signature Healthcare Services in
2000. The facilities under Signature Healthcare’s oversight cater
specifically to individuals with behavioral health disorders like
addictions. As of 2011, Dr. Kim has built Signature Healthcare Services
into a company that provides 1,700 jobs and continues to expand. Dr. Kim
and Signature Healthcare Services will be opening a new hospital in
northern California in 2012.
Interests
Outside of his professional career, Dr. Soon K. Kim enjoys tennis.
